2026 & 2027 tour dates

October 12-18, 2026

Our next French countryside walking tour departs October 12-18, 2026, with four more departures in 2027. Seven slow days, one restored stone home and a small group of solo women travelers. Limited to 8 guests per departure, reserve your room before it's gone.

The next departure

One Week. Eight Travelers.
A Private Room for Each.

We keep every departure small and intimate, never crowds, never a packed coach. This walking tour departs Monday, October 12 and returns Sunday, October 18, 2026, meeting at the Brive-la-Gaillarde train station and basing the whole week in one beautifully restored stone home near Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne.

When the eight rooms for this departure are spoken for, they're gone. If a French countryside walking tour has been on your list, this is the week to claim, and four more dates follow in 2027.

This is a small-group walking tour in France built around the Dordogne, a guided, 7-day Dordogne walking tour for solo women travelers who love slow travel, medieval villages and long days on foot. If you've been comparing small-group tours of France or looking for a Dordogne walking tour with a real day-by-day itinerary, this is the week to hold.

Why October

The French Countryside at Its Most Beautiful

October is the quiet, golden season here, the summer crowds long gone, the light low and warm and the countryside turning amber along the river.

Perfect Walking Weather

Mild, comfortable days made for long walks, cool enough to climb a hilltop village, warm enough for a lazy riverside lunch.

Trails to Yourself

The peak-season visitors have gone home. Medieval lanes, market squares and clifftop paths feel like they're yours alone.

Harvest on the Table

Autumn markets brim with walnuts, wild mushrooms, late figs and the first whispers of truffle season in Southwest France.

Golden Light

The river valley glows in low October sun, the kind of light that makes every photo, and every evening, feel unhurried.
